Maintaining and improving product safety and reliability under a stringent quality control system

Since products of Toray Advanced Film are used as base materials and packaging materials in a variety of industries and have broadly penetrated into everyday lives, we go beyond basic compliance with customer quality standards, the Product Liability (PL) Law and other legislations to practice quality control by thoroughly analyzing product safety and reliability throughout the entire process, from development to production and use. Our product/quality control system makes it possible to supply high quality products quickly and reliably.

Toray Group always inspects the safety of the products it provides. Under its product safety review system, safety reviews for new products are undertaken by the director in charge of manufacturing the product. The reviews include a safety check of the product, completion of safety data sheets (SDS), an inspection of the product’s instruction manuals and warning labels, and the production of catalogs and other useful safety information resources for customers. Assessments of the environmental impact of the product are also undertaken at the same time. If any doubts about product safety are raised, the Product Safety Review Board convenes a meeting when necessary. The product must then pass their review before being released to the market.

Obtaining ISO9001 certification for an even stricter management system

Since obtaining ISO9001 certification, an international standard for quality control and quality assurance for our earlier capacitor business section in 1994, Toray Advanced Film has strived to develop a quality management system at all our offices and established safe and clean plants. At present, all our offices acquired ISO9001, and all our departments work as one team to improve quality.
